Workshop 9: A Peep at the Singapore Preschool Accreditation Framework (SPARK) (EL)

Participants attending this workshop will be introduced to the SPARKS Quality Rating Scale (QRS) tool. They will be briefly taken through the 7- point criteria for SPARKS and see the link to all criteria. By sharing of practices, participants will be able to identify and relate to the QRS tool and become aware of the changes they need to make to raise the quality of the Kindergartens / childcare centre. The focus for this workshop will be on curriculum and pedagogy.
About the Trainer
Ms JAYA has many years of experience in early childhood education, having been in this field for more than 19 years. She has worked in both Childcare and Kindergarten settings. Having started as a teacher and then as senior principal in private kindergartens, she has moved on to help kindergartens raise their standards, as a trainer and coach. She has experience as a trainer for Certificate in Pre-School Teaching in Early Childhood Institute and has conducted “custom –made” workshops for various centres. She has also conducted parental talks to help parents gain a better understanding of the changes that have been introduced in early childhood education. She is currently working in SEED Institute’s Centre for Continuing Professional Development.
